Why is avocado such a popular and healthy fruit?

“Avocado salad”, “Avocado sandwich”, “Avocado smoothies” ...Recently, there are many variety of dishes that includes avocado in restaurant menus. What makes avocado such a popular and healthy fruits that many people want to include it in their meals? In fact, avocado is one of the fruits that has the richest dietary fibre content, where every 100 grams of avocado contains 6.7 grams of dietary fibre, which contributes to gut and heart health.

Avocado is not only rich in dietary fibre, but also rich in good fats. Avocado is rich in monounsaturated fat, which helps to lower the level of bad (low-density lipoprotein) blood cholesterol, and keeping the bad cholesterol level low can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as improving insulin sensitivity, i.e. helping type 2 diabetics improve blood sugar control.

Although avocado gives us many health benefits, it is nevertheless high in calories. For those who need to lose weight, it is suggested to restrict to around half an avocado a day, along with a healthy balanced diet.
