Vegetarian Sources of Protein

As long asan adequate amount of calories is consumed every day, it is not difficult for vegetarians and vegans to get enough protein from their diet. Protein is composed of over 20 amino acids, and many plant-based foods offer a variety of different amino acids. Legumes (such as kidney beans, black-eyed peas, and chickpeas), soybeans (such as tofu and soy products), nuts (walnuts, cashews, almonds), cereals (such as oatmeal), seeds (such as pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds), and the trendy quinoa are all excellent plant-based protein foods.
