Dr.  Dennis Chan Chi Chiu: Are You Exercising the Right Way?

In recent years, the global fitness craze has inspired more people to engage in activities like working out and running, striving for a healthier lifestyle. However, this trend has also led to a significant increase in sports injury cases. Common issues such as muscle strains and joint sprains often stem from inadequate warm-ups, improper posture, or overtraining.

Prevention is better than cure. Before exercising, ensure a proper warm-up to activate joints; during exercise, focus on maintaining correct posture and avoid overexertion; and after exercise, always stretch and relax your muscles. If an injury occurs, apply the RICE principle (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) immediately, and seek medical attention for severe injuries.

By developing proper exercise habits, you can truly enjoy a healthy lifestyle and the joy of sports.
