Robotic Systems
Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Tsuen Wan has always been at the forefront of medical innovation, continually leveraging cutting-edge medical technology to improve patient care and treatment outcomes. We are proud to introduce three advanced robotic systems to HKAH-TW: the 4th-generation Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System, the MAKO Robotic System , ROSA Robotic System, and the HUGO Robotic System.
These state-of-the-art systems have broad applications across multiple specialties, including neurosurgery, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, and otorhinolaryngology. They enable robotic-assisted surgeries for various conditions, such as robotic-assisted spine surgery, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and complex tumor resection surgeries.
Benefits of Robotic-Assisted Surgery
Robotic-assisted surgery offers significant advantages that improve patient outcomes:
- Decreased Intraoperative Bleeding: Minimized blood loss during procedures.
- Reduced Pain: Smaller incisions result in less postoperative discomfort.
- Faster Recovery: Patients often return to daily activities sooner compared to traditional surgery.
- Reduced Risk of Complications: Minimally invasive techniques lower the chance of complications.
- Improved Surgical Precision: Enhanced accuracy, even during highly complex surgeries.
- Shorter Hospital Stay: Many patients experience shorter hospitalizations.
- Lower Infection Risk: Small incisions reduce the likelihood of infections.
To ensure the highest levels of patient safety, our Robotic Surgery Service is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. All surgeons undergo rigorous training, certification, and clinical privileging before being authorized to operate robotic surgical systems.
Looking ahead, we are committed to expanding the applications of these advanced technologies into other specialized fields, continuing to lead in innovative medical practices and striving for excellence in healthcare.
