Disposal of Waste Medicine Program

Why Should You Recycle Unused Medication?

Expired or leftover medicines should not be disposed of casually. Improper disposal can contaminate  water and soil. In particular, medicines such as antibiotics released into the environment may help cultivate “superbugs.”

If medicines are simply thrown into general waste, their ingredients may enter landfills or sewage treatment systems—leading to water pollution and negatively affecting aquatic ecosystems.

Let Hong Kong Adventist Hospital - Tsuen Wan  join you in caring for the environment and reducing pollution!
