Former High Jump Athlete Shares Hip Joint Replacement Surgery Experience with HKAHF & Health for All

Uncle Lam (76 years old) used to be a high jump athlete with a personal best of 2.16m, and remained active even after retiring as a PE teacher. Due to deteriorating hip joint conditions that surfaced in 2020, the former sportsman could not even walk short distances anymore. Yet, he had been waiting for two years for surgery at public hospitals.

Upon learning of this, Dr. Wong Sze Hung from Health For All and the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation (Tsuen Wan) promptly arranged free surgery under our Charity General Medical Fund, helping Uncle Lam gain a new lease on life.
