This statement is issued by Adventist Health Hong Kong. Adventist Health Hong Kong has always upheld the principles of professionalism, integrity and patient-centred care, and is committed to providing the public with reliable, high-quality medical services. Adventist Health Hong Kong (hereinafter referred to as the “Hospital”) recently received notice that an interview video featuring Dr. Liu Chung Ngar Dorothy, Consultant in Critical Care Medicine and Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Tsuen Wan, is being shown in the lobby of a “NEW BEAUTY” branch. The video has also been labelled with the title “Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Snoring Specialist” and used as promotional material for the beauty salon. Adventist Health Hong Kong hereby solemnly declares as follows: 1. No cooperative relationship Adventist Health Hong Kong, including Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, Adventist Medical Centre and other affiliated institutions, has never established any form of cooperation, partnership, referral or promotional arrangement with “NEW BEAUTY” or any of its related entities, branches, websites or service platforms. 2. No approval, endorsement or support in any form The Hospital has not authorised “NEW BEAUTY” to use Dr. Liu’s name, title, photograph, interview content, image or likeness for any purpose. The video refers to Dr. Liu as a “Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Snoring Specialist”. The Hospital and Dr. Liu are strictly adhered to the requirements of the Medical Council of Hong Kong concerning public education and practice promotion. The Hospital reiterates that neither the Hospital nor Dr. Liu has endorsed or authorised the use of the aforementioned title. 3. “NEW BEAUTY” has never requested verification or information sharing from the Hospital “NEW BEAUTY” has never requested verification, authorisation or information sharing from Adventist Health Hong Kong in relation to the content of the aforementioned video, the source of the interview, or any promotional materials. The Hospital had no prior knowledge of the production background, authenticity of the content, or manner of use of the video, nor did it review or participate in the same in any way. Nothing in the aforementioned video or promotional content represents the professional opinions, position, endorsement or support of Adventist Health Hong Kong or the Hospital’s healthcare professionals. Adventist Health Hong Kong takes any unauthorised use of the names, professional qualifications, images or statements of the Hospital’s doctors for commercial promotion or any other purpose very seriously, and requires “NEW BEAUTY” to immediately cease using the relevant video.
