HDTV Video Processor

The Endoscopy Unit is equipped with the latest Olympus HDTV video processor and a range of endoscopes capable of making full utilization of "Narrow Banding Imaging".

Coupled with Olympus GIF Type H260 endoscope, which is the world's first high definition (HDTV) video processor for endoscopy, the system has dramatically improved image quality with state-of-the-art image enhancement technologies.

Narrow Banding Imaging

Latest "Narrow Banding Imaging" endoscopic equipment in the Endoscopy Unit can sequentially illuminate the mucosa with precise wavelengths of red, blue, and green light that penetrate tissue to different depths. Images generated can reveal mucosal vasculature and surface morphology in high contrast. Also, such technology would be most useful in differentiating sessile neoplastic growths from inflammatory lesions.
