Nutrition Counseling and Dietetic Service

Food and Dietetic Department

The Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital promotes a 'healthy lifestyle' as part of its Total Health concept, and good nutrition is an important factor.

We have a well-trained and registered 'in-house' Dietitian, who provides counseling on diets for children, pre and post-natal mothers, and the vegetarian alternative.   Counseling is also available for a range of digestive and related disorders such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, gout and diabetes.   Hypertension, raised cholesterol, and food allergies, amongst other disorders are also dealt with in this program.

This service is provided for the in-patients at our hospital, but is also available to the general community on an out-patient basis.

Services include:

  • Assessment on eating habits
  • Counseling for children diet
  • Counseling for vegetarian diet
  • Counseling on chronic illness
  • Counseling on diet for pregnancy
  • Counseling on healthy eating habits
  • Counseling on sensitive digestive system
  • Counseling on weight management
  • Post natal balanced diet counseling
  • Nutrition and Dietetic Program (PDF, 9.3Mb)

The promotion of the 'Total Health' concept is one of the main reasons for the establishment of the Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital.
